Meet our bees
Let’s take a walk down the hill to a tiny strip of grass beneath five large oak trees. Nestled against the hill, in the partial shade of these magnificent hardwoods, stands six pedestals, each about two feet tall. These rugged posts branch out, mimicking the trees, to support small platforms on which sit stacks of wooden boxes. It is these boxes, that roughly three hundred thousand honeybees call home. These are the bees from which all Aberlend honey products are carefully crafted.
“Carefully crafted” you say… by you? No, my friend, all by the bees. From the honey itself that flows from the Flow supers without the need for filtering, heating, or spinning, even to the cassettes of comb filled and capped – untouched by human hands. We just provide the ultimate workshop. They do the rest.

Still not convinced? Aberlend honey won first place in the 2023 Hive Life Honey Show, the largest honey show in the United States in the last fifty years, in the Black Jar Class beating out 158 other entries. The Black Jar Class is judged strictly on taste. The entries are each placed in a small black jar, preventing the judge from having any bias towards color or clarity.
We always knew Aberlend honey was fantastic, but we now have a blue ribbon to prove it!
All honey is not the same
Commercial honey bottlers and retailers have been widely known to adulterate real pure honey with corn syrups to increase volume and lower prices for higher profits. Aberlend honey is in its purest raw form. Nothing is ever added or altered… period.
